Interesting. Port Angeles doesn’t even make the list, but Sequim comes in at number 14!

And, this is based on the FBI statistics?

It would seem that the City would be better off highlighting this fact, then portraying Port Angeles as a crime ridden town.

The downtown merchants would do well to think about the image of Port Angeles they are promoting, as they push for more policing.

Port Angeles is a crime-ridden town, it is just the fact that most crimes are not called in that makes the statistics so low. I am one of many who stopped calling the police to report a crime because they are always either to late to do anything, do not follow up on anything that have ever seen as per leads go, and half the time you become a suspect of something if you can’t answer a question correctly, especially if you have been trouble with the law before. I have, as many people that I know have as well, a sign up in my house that reads “Under NO Circumstances Will Anyone Call The Police for Any Reason. – The management -” I have had my stuff ripped off or never returned as well. I would put PA, considering it’s size, in the top ten easily and probably closer to top five. (Also, no one calls the police who are in the drug/theft/sex scene, especially on one another. So there is another large percentage of people not calling the police and reporting all of the crimes that occur which often involve innocent people as well.)

And, now with the City’s budget being cut back because of the closure of the Nippon Mill, we can expect things in the city to get better?

What you don’t normally think about are the potential stink holes that are around the mountains.

Wow! A quarter million. I had no idea so many people cared to know where the worst places to live in Washington are.

The vigilante group in Port Angeles must be feeling really proud, right about now.
