On July 5, 2017, Sergeant Cassandra (Wendy) Peterson was promoted to Chief Corrections Deputy and Corrections Deputy Wes Miner was promoted to Corrections Sergeant.
Chief Peterson was hired as extra-help Corrections Officer in the Clallam County Correctional Facility in 1984. She worked as extra-help until 1989 when she was hired as a permanent Corrections Officer. In 2001, Wendy was promoted to the rank of Corrections Sergeant and in 2016 she was assigned the task of getting the Jail ready for WASPC Accreditation.
The Washington Association of Sheriffs and Police Chiefs worked many years on developing an accreditation process for Washington State Correctional Facilities and due to Wendy’s efforts the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office had a very successful Mock Accreditation on June 30, 2017 with the final on-site accreditation expected the first week of August.
Sergeant Miner was hired as a Corrections Officer in 2004 and has received several awards for his excellent work in the jail. Wes contributed his efforts to the Sheriff’s Annual Report for the last several years, developing the Corrections section into a very professional and thorough review for each year.
The Clallam County Sheriff’s Office and the citizens of Clallam County are very fortunate to have such capable and competent staff, with a great work ethic, devoting their lives to the service of others.
